“It is true, we cannot make a genius, we can only
give each individual the chance to fulfill his potential possibilities to
become an independent, secure, and balanced human being”
- Dr. Maria Montessori
Dr. Maria Montessori was born in Italy in 1870. In 1896 she became the first woman to graduate from the University of Rome Medical School and joined the University’s Psychiatric Clinic. Her desire to help children was so strong that she gave up her medical practice in 1906 and started working with a group of children in Rome where she founded the first Montessori School “Casa Dei Bambini”(House of children). The materials that she designed and developed more than a hundred years ago are modern, scientific, and enduring.
We believe in Dr. Maria Montessori’s philosophy of educating the whole child. According to her, children teach themselves - they receive inherent inner directives from nature, guiding them through their true normal growth.
The three pillars of a Montessori classroom are the child, the environment and the teacher. The teacher prepares the environment in such a way that the child feels motivated to explore and manipulate. The child is free to choose his own task and teach himself until he finally masters the task through repetition. The teacher plays a passive role of an observer and guides the child through his journey of learning.
Our goal is to follow the children and provide an environment that will help them develop physically, socially, emotionally, and academically.
